International Travel Information for Visitors

Travel from the Airport

Sydney Airport is located 9km (6 miles) south of Sydney city centre

TAXI
Taxi ranks are located outside each of the terminals. It is about a 20 minute taxi ride into the Sydney city centre, costing approximately AUD $28–$33 depending on traffic conditions. Please find more information about taking Taxis from the Airport here.

Visitors will probably find taking a taxi directly from their Airport to their accommodation the easiest, fastest and most convenient option, particularly if two people or more are travelling together.

TRAIN
An Airport Link train station is located directly below T1 International Terminal and is reached from inside the terminal on the arrivals level. Trains run every 10 minutes and the journey to Central Station in the city takes about 13 minutes. An adult fare is AUD $14 one-way. For more information visit the Airport Link website.

From Central Station you will probably need to catch a taxi to your accommodation, which if nearby will cost approximately $10–$15.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICES
There are several private companies running shuttle services between the Airport and various City hotels and motels. They depart regularly from the front of the airport terminals and cost around AUD $13 per person for a one way trip into the city. These shuttle services will take around 20 minutes to get into the city. Private shuttle bus companies include KST Sydney Airporter and Sydney Airport Shuttle. Please check their websites for more details.
