Travel from the Airport
Sydney Airport is located 9km (6 miles) south of Sydney city centre
TAXI
Taxi ranks are located outside each of the terminals. It is about a 15 minute taxi ride into the Sydney city centre costing approximately AUD $28-$33 depending on traffic conditions. Please find more information about taking Taxis from the Airport here.
TRAIN
An Airport Link train station is located directly below T1 International Terminal and is reached from inside the terminal on the arrivals level. Trains run every 10 minutes and the journey to Central Station in the city takes about 13 minutes. An adult fare is AUD $13.80 one-way. For more information visit the Airport Link website.
From Central Station you will need to catch a taxi to your accommodation, which if nearby will cost approximately $10- $15.
Visitors may find it easier and more convenient to take a taxi directly from the Airport to the accommodation. This option is also more economical if two people or more are traveling together.
SHUTTLE BUS SERVICES
There are several private companies running shuttle services between the Airport and various City hotels and motels. They depart regularly from the front of the airport terminals and cost around AUD $13 per person for a one way trip into the city. These shuttle services will take around 20 minutes to get into the city. Private shuttle bus companies include KST Sydney Airporter and Sydney Airport Shuttle. Please check their websites for more details.
