International SPICE: Schools Projects In-Service Certificate of Education

International SPICE is an innovative Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies. It is designed to enable practicing teachers to develop their skills and understanding at a graduate level, and aims to improve standards of teaching and engagement in specialist areas of work.

The program is comprised of four Units of Study (UoS), closely related to practice in schools. The first UoS has a more theoretical bias in order to familiarise participants with the literature of action research and action learning, and help them relate their practice to those of others. The second, third and fourth UoS are a mixture of theory and practice, and involve carrying out small research projects in the work environment.
