Theory Refresher Workshop

This interactive workshop will provide participants with the opportunity of engaging with theory and developing theory awareness within the context of their own practice. Different levels of theory will be explored, along with reflection on the nature of theory-building and the notion of ‘ground-up’ theory or theory that is generated from practice. Some attention will be given to the evolvement of theory over the past half-century, with the move from early psychological influences to the more contemporary sociological and postmodern influences. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and challenges of the theory-practice links in their own practice.
