Child Neglect: Effective Interagency Response

This workshop will assist professionals from different arenas who work with children to identify and understand child neglect and their interagency responsibilities. It will help these professionals in addressing the multiple levels of child neglect and developing appropriate interagency strategies that may assist the child.

Child neglect is a very difficult phenomenon for workers to identify and understand. It is often underpinned by poverty, and it is often unclear about who has the responsibility for change. Child neglect is one of the major causes of death, or near death for very young children, and a major inhibitor to positive growth and educational development for all children.
