Maximising the Use of the Interactive White Board

in the Secondary Classroom

This program aims to provide teachers with innovative and practical ways to integrate the use of ICT throughout the secondary curriculum using the Interactive White Board by:

  • Exploring what is currently happening in schools
  • Mapping the appropriate outcomes across the key learning areas
  • Developing an integrated unit of work, and
  • Using various technologies, teaching strategies and learning styles to cater for the diverse needs of students.

The course will include formal presentation, discussion and practical workshop sessions. Participants are asked to bring a memory stick (1GB or more) to save their work for future use.

About the presenter

Lee Mowbray: M Ed (Computer Ed), Grad Dip Ed. (ICT)
Lee has been involved in the training, planning, development, support and integration of computer-based technology in education since the early 1980s, in K-6 and secondary DET and independent schools, as well as Adult Education. This range of educational technology experience combined with her sound pedagogy and expertise in Teacher Professional Learning ensures she has a deep understanding of all learners, both children and adults. Lee has been working with teachers, students and SMARTBoards for over 9 years, specifically focusing on creating quality learning environments that are student-centred, interactive and engaging. She has presented at conferences both in Australia and in the United States.
