Quality Literature for Quality Learning (K-6)
Tuesday 23 September 8am 3:15pm
A range of contemporary children’s and adolescent literature will be used in this workshop, to explore student engagement, deep understanding and deep learning and, consequently, enhanced learning outcomes. We will consider questions around quality literature, critical literacies and the role of the Arts in quality learning and draw on recent concrete experiences in classrooms.
This workshop will be interactive and participants should come prepared to engage fully, have fun and take away a number of meaningful teaching and learning strategies. Participants are invited to bring at least one example of something they define as ‘quality literature’ with them.
