Teaching Writing Within a Balanced Literacy Program
Friday 15 August 2008, 9am4pm
This course invites primary school teachers K6 to reflect on how writing is taught in their classrooms and to see how students’ excitement for writing can be ignited.
During the workshop, participants will:
- explore concepts of audience and purpose
- revisit the writing process, text types, skills and strategies for writing, and
- discuss organisational strategies and links with integrated units.

About the Presenter: Robyn Wild has worked for the NSW Department of Education and Training as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, literacy consultant and senior curriculum officer in the Early Learning Unit. She currently works part time at the University of Sydney, Macquarie University and the University of Wollongong, lecturing on reading and writing acquisition. Robyn also works as a literacy consultant in schools across New South Wales.
