Working with the Abused or Neglected Child in the Classroom

This workshop will allow teachers and education personnel to consider the multiple levels of intervention which are necessary to assist the child who may have been abused or is at risk of abuse or harm.

Through formal presentations, workshops and group discussion it will provide strategies for enhancing safety, welfare and wellbeing at both prevention and intervention levels. These include:

• developing classroom strategies with children and young people who display challenging behaviours, and
• further developing a school culture where children and young people feel safe.
