Course Overview
This course will examine in detail the theories, policies and practices that promote quality literacy and numeracy learning outcomes for students identified as experiencing difficulties learning in a mainstream classroom environment, across a range of Key Learning Areas (KLAs).
Specific focus will be placed on teachers working as part of teams to promote individualised programs and processes that assist students with additional learning needs to achieve collaboratively established learning outcomes. Workshop activities and individual learning tasks will promote the integration of theory and practice across a range of settings (that is, early childhood, primary and secondary).
Academic Coordinator: Associate Professor David Evans
Assessment & Accreditation
To receive the Certificate in Education Studies (Learning Support), teachers must attend and actively participate in all sessions (Successful Learning Conference 2009 + 5 workshops).
Successful participants have the option of having this program accredited as one unit of study towards one of the faculty’s postgraduate programs: Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies, Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies and Master of Education. This entails undertaking two assessment tasks and carries an additional fee for marking and administration. If interested, please discuss this option further with the Academic Coordinator, Associate Professor David Evans.
